| Tamang Heritage Trial (Tamang Heritage Trekking) |
The Tamang people are a little known ethnic group of Nepal that inhabits the region north of Kathmandu and close to the Langtang range. These trekking routes have been opened up, allowing you to explore the fascinating culture of the Tamang people. These treks display to you the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Tamang people as well as breathtaking mountain scenery, beautiful farming hamlets and rich jungle land.
The treks start with a long bus ride from Kathmandu taking you into the lower foothills of the Langtang region. From here you will trek into the heart of the mountain region. Along the way you will be witness Tamang rituals, Tibetan culture, religious festivals, traditional architecture, native dress, cultural displays of song and dancing and the warmth and hospitality of the people, and not to forget the stunning mountain views of Langtang and Ganesh Himal. As you pass through the villages you will have the chance to buy local handy craft items like hand made caps, carvings, paintings and clothes.
