To enter Bhutan, you will be required to have a visa clearance letter, which indicates the permission to enter the nation. However, if you are a citizen of the India, Bangladesh, or Maldives then you wouldn’t require visa, with your national identification card you can enter in Bhutan.

Bhutan and its seclusive principles

As Bhutanese Government is trying its best to preserve the country’s cultural heritage and environment from external influence. So, traveling to the “Land of Thunder Dragon”: Bhutan is regulated by Bhutan’s visa policy of “High Value, Low Volume Tourism”.

Getting a tourist visa is not possible unless you book a tour. Visa is only available once you book a tour to visit Bhutan through authorized travel agent. We Breakfree Adventure are authorized travel agent who can easily process your tourist visa without any hassle. We will be needing color copy of valid passport valid for next 6 month or a scanned copy of your passport with visible and clear passport number and picture of the passport holder. The visa application process should be done and completed at least 10 days before your travel date. We then will submit the application along with necessary documents to the Tourism Council of Bhutan, which will issue your visa clearance letter and send it to us.

Then you will have to show visa clearance letter while boarding the flight if you are getting into Bhutan by air or to the immigration offices on the entry points situated at the border. Actual Bhutan visa will be issued in your passport at the Paro International Airport or immigration offices at the entry points on the border.
