Getting to Bhutan
Government of Bhutan only allows tourist to enter Bhutan after booking a tour. Getting Bhutan by Air:
Getting Bhutan by Air is the less hectic way to travel to Bhutan. Paro International Airport is the only international airport of the country. Only two airlines are allowed to do flights to the Paro International Airport. Druk Air is the government airlines company where as Bhutan Airlines is a private airline company. Direct flights from Kathmandu, New-Delhi, Bagdogra, Guwahati, Kolkotta, Gaya, Dhaka, Singapore and Bangkok can be booked. Paro international airport is considered as one of the most beautiful airports in the world. It is situated in the valley which is surrounded by hills and mountains. You will be served with panoramic mountain view as you ascend form high altitude to the breathtaking valleys.
Getting Bhutan by Land:
Getting Bhutan by land is also recommended if you have plenty of time, and want to explore landscapes as you travel to your destination. There are three entry points, each on west, eastern and southern midpoint of Bhutan. Though its northern side border with Tibet stretches to 296 miles it does not have any entry point from Tibet. The entry point on the west from the Phuentsholing is the busiest land entry point of the country, its proximity to the bagdogra airport at Siliguri and rest of the India except west Bengal makes it desired land entry point. Glelephu is another entry point situated at the central part of the country. Samdrup is another eastern land entry point. This entry point also is in close proximity to airports in Guwhati, which receives flights from major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta etc. and also have rail networks connecting all over India.
