Kathmandu is a great city that carries with it a glorious traditional and cultural significance. Unveil the world’s most historic and traditional monuments in Kathmandu by taking a day tour to some of the world’s most mystifying world heritage sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square, The famous monkey temple, Pashupatinath Temple and famous Boudhanath Stupa. Pokhara is a city of beautiful lakes, temples and a lot of natural splendor. Our 4 nights and 5 days tour to Kathmandu and Pokhara leaves you with great traveling experience and memories for lifetime.

Our adventure starts with a city tour of Kathmandu right next day of your arrival in Kathmandu. We will operate a guided city tour to Kathmandu Durbar Square where you will explore the ancient royal palace, Kastamandap Temple, Hanuman Dhoka, Bhairab Shrine and many more religious and cultural attractions. A tour to Swoyambhunath Temple which is believed to be self-erupted would be a great exploration for you. Swoyambhunath is not only a famous for Buddhist Pilgrimage but also stands as a symbol of truth, compassion and unity for Non-Buddhists. As you continue your tour to great Pashupatinath Temple, you will be amazed with its religious significances. At Pashupatinath you will also see Ghat (Crematorium) where people are cremated as per the customs and traditions. Similarly, Boudhanath Stupa has its own significance and history. Boudhanath stands as a religious center of Buddhists and it holds many stupas and shrines that glorify Buddhist Philosophy. We will fly to Pokhara by boarding a scenic flight later in the Evening. Pokhara is a beautiful city and holds numerous natural splendors. Next morning we will drive to Sarangkot to enjoy the magical sunrise. Sarangkot is one of the main attractions of Pokhara and is famous to watch the sunrise and magnificent Himalayas from its vantage point. We will then continue to explore other attractions of Pokhara. We will visit Bindabasini Temple, Mahendra Cave, Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, Pokhara regional museum, World Peace Stupa, Tibetan Refugee Camp etc. Hanging around the lakeside during the evening is a great idea in Pokhara. On the fourth day of our tour we either drive or fly back to Kathmandu. You may choose to hang around in the markets of Kathmandu at your spare time. We will organize a farewell dinner at an authentic Nepali restaurant before we finally conclude our tour.

Day 01 : Arrive in Kathmandu

After your arrival at the airport in Kathmandu you will be greeted by one of our representatives who will later transfer you to the hotel. After hotel check in you can decide whether you would like to have a relaxing rest at the hotel or hang around the streets of Kathmandu (If you have leisure time). You will be briefed about our next day’s travel plan by our company representative. O/N you stay at the hotel.

Day 02 : Kathmandu city tour and fly to Pokhara

Today after breakfast we will organize a guided city tour where you get to discover several historical, cultural and spiritual attractions of Kathmandu. You will be seeing the world heritage sites like historical Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of lord Pashupatinath, Buddhist pilgrimage Swoyambhunath (famous by the name of Monkey temple among tourists) and Boudhanath Shrine.  You will be amazed to see the culture, tradition and lifestyle of people living in Kathmandu valley. We will later catch a flight to Pokhara. Upon your arrival in Pokhara our guide you escort you to your hotel. O/N you stay at the hotel in Pokhara.

Day 03 : Sunrise + Pokhara City Tour

Early morning, we set off for Sarangkot to catch eye popping view of sunrise from its ridge. We need to walk for a couple of minutes to reach its vantage point. Sarangkot also offers a great view of some of the tallest Himalayas of Nepal including the Annapurna Range.  Later we will driver back to continue with our city tour. We will pay our visit to the famous Bindabasini Temple that is dedicated to goddess Durga.
We will continue to visit other attractions of the City like Seti River Gorge, Davis Falls, The longest cave in south Asia Gupteshwor Cave and many more. We will then drive to World peace Stupa that is situated in the hilltop. World peace Stupa is a famous tourist destination and it offers a great view of Fewa Lake and magnificent Himalayas from its vantage point. We will also visit the Tibetan Refugee Camp which is a habitat for numerous exiled Tibetans. Hanging around the lakeside in the evening and boating in the Fewa Lake for some time is indeed a great fun. O/N We stay at the hotel in Pokhara.

Day 04 : Drive/Fly Back to Kathmandu

Today we will be bidding farewell to the beautiful city of Pokhara. We will either fly back or drive back to Kathmandu. Driving back to Kathmandu is a great fun as it offers a scenic view of beautiful rivers, landscapes and traditional villages on our way back. Upon reaching Kathmandu we will organize a farewell dinner at an authentic Nepali restaurant. The traditional dances and cultural shows at the restaurants would be a great opportunity to understand the Nepali culture and tradition. After the dinner we will get back to the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 05 : Final Departure

Your trip to the majestic country of Nepal comes to an end today! You will be escorted by one of the representatives of Breakfree adventure to the international terminal of Kathmandu airport approximately three hours before your flight schedule. We exchange our last good-byes and now you will be leaving Nepal with all the good memories you had during the wonderful Kathmandu Valley Tour. We hope you had a lovely time with us. Tour Availability
We operate Kathmandu Pokhara Tour privately with your personal guide so that you don’t have to confront with other people who might have different interests or attitudes. To keep our tours private and comfortable we limit our groups with 10 people per guide. Please contact us if you have a bigger group and we will arrange several guides for you depending on group size.

Vehicle
We use comfortable car/mini-van for the sightseeing tours. (For up to 2 people, car is provided and mini-van is for the group 3-10 people) Kathmandu/Pokhara/Kathmandu transfers can be done either by drive or flight as per your requirement.
 
Tour duration
The tour duration is 4 nights/5 days. In Kathmandu, visit the major UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swoyambhunath-Monkey Temple, Boudhanath. Pokhara sightseeing includes all the natural tourist sites and Himalayan view-point Sarangkot.

Clothing
Clothing varies with the type of tour and season. It’s warm in Kathmandu from April to October-end and from November to March-end, days are usually warm but evening colder. Summer clothes are okay during the day time but the evening requires a light jackets. Winter is from December till February so bring along sufficient winter wears like jackets, sweaters, trousers etc. Or you can purchase clothes of your choice in Kathmandu clothing stores too.

Breakfast is included during your stay at Kathmandu/Pokhara.

The sightseeing places we visit in Kathmandu will include:

Kathmandu Durbar Square (World Heritage Site)
This complex of palaces, courtyards and temples, built between the 12th and 18th centuries, used to be the seat of the ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu. An intriguing piece here is the 17th- century stone inscription set into the wall of the palace with writings in 15 languages. The Durbar Square is the social, religious and urban focal point of the city. There are also three museums inside the palace building.

Swoyambhunath Stupa - The Monkey Temple (World Heritage Site)
The huge stupa is one of the holiest Buddhists sites in Nepal and its establishment is linked to the creation of the Kathmandu Valley out of a primordial lake. Swayambhu is also known the Monkey temple because of the countless monkeys living in the premises. The stupa is towards the western side of the Kathmandu valley atop a hillock commanding great view of the entire Kathmandu Valley.

Pashupatinath Temple (World Heritage Site)
Pashupatinath is one of the most sacred Hindu shrines located 5 kms east of the city center. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred Linga, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva. Chronicles indicate the temples existence prior to 400 AD. The holy Bagmati River flowing beside the temple is also the cremation ground for Hindus.

Bouddhanath Stupa (World Heritage Site)
The Bouddhanath Stups is the largest stupa in the valley located about 6 kms to the east of downtown Kathmandu. It looms 36 meters high and presents one of the most fascinating
specimens of stupa design. Buddhanath is also known as Khasti, or dew drops, after an account that builders had to use dew to mix the mortar as Kathmandu was suffering from a severe drought during the construction of Bouddhanath.

The sightseeing places we visit in Pokhara will include:

Sarangkot
Sarangkot is the Himalayan view-point located at an altitude of 1600m. From Sarangkot, on the northern direction one can spot Dhawalagiri in the far west, Annapurna range is visible when the weather is clear on the same side. On the southern direction overlooks the Pokhara city and its lake on the north-western outskirts of the city.

World Peace Pagoda
World Peace Pagoda is a Buddhist stupa located on a hill top (Rani Ban) just above the Phewa Lake. This stupa is the symbol of peace where the huge idols of Lord Buddha from Japan, Sri Lanka and Thailand have been installed. From here one can enjoy the breathtaking views of Himalayan Ranges, lakes, and the city.

Bindhabasini Temple
The temple is for the Goddess Bhagwati located in the center of the religious old bazaar. The park grounds offer a fine picnic and relaxing area.

Davis fall
Locally known as Patale Chhango and in the southern flank of the Pokhara valley, it is where the stream flowing from Fewa Lake collapses and surges down the rock into a deep gorge, leaping through several potholes.

Gupteshwor Cave
The revered Gupteshwor Cave is situated 2 kms from Pokhara airport. The entrance is right across from Davis fall and the cave is almost 3 kms long. It has some big hall-sized rooms and some passages where you have to crawl on all four. This cave holds special value to Hindus since a phallic symbol of Lord Shiva is preserved here in the condition it was discovered

Seti River Gorges
Carved by Seti-Gandaki, it is one of the natural wonders of Pokhara. K.I. Singh bridge at Bagar, Mahendrapool and Prithivi highway Bridge near bus park, provide a perfect view of the rivers dreadful rush and the deep gorge made by the turbulent flow of white water.

Tibetan Refugee Camps
The Tibetan village Tashiling in the south and the Tashi Palkhel village in the north of Pokhara are renowned for the production and trade of woolen carpets and other handicrafts. The original Tibetan settlers in this region migrated to Nepal in the ‘50s.

Regional Museum
It is located between the airport and Mahendra Pul & reflects the ethnic mosaic of Western Nepal. The lifestyles and history of ethnic groups such as the Gurung, Thakali and the Tharu are attractively displayed.
