Day 01 : Arrive Lhasa (3650m)

Fly past the tallest mountains series of the world ‘the Himalayas’. Upon arrival at Goggar Airport, met by our representatives and drive to Lhasa. The first day in Lhasa is take rest at the hotel in order to get acclimatize with the altitude of Lhasa. Overnight Hotel.

Day 02/03 : Lhasa – Sightseeing

The ancient city of Lhasa is blessed with many religious monasteries and shrines so the city deserves two day of sightseeing where you will be visiting the following popular landmarks in Lhasa city:

Potala Palace: is one of the most popular landmark of Tibet and also the political plus religious centre of this ancient Buddhist land. The palace is 13 stories building with 1000 rooms and is the most visited tourist attraction. It is elegantly decorated with hundreds of Thanka paintings, frescos and image of around hundred years old.

Jokhang Temple: was built in the 7th century and another tourist attraction of Lhasa. The temple holds a very huge Buddha statue and it is considered the holiest place in entire Tibet.

Sera and Drepung monasteries: are located at foothills of Rocky Mountains and are actually big white Buddhist temples founded in 1419. In the early days, Drupung used to have about 8000 monks teaching traditions of Vajrayana, Mahayana, and Sutrayana, the three vehicles of Tibetan Buddhism.

Norbulingka palace: was built by the 7th Dalai Lama. There is a huge garden at the palace with many palaces erected by many Dalai Lamas in different time periods.

Apart from the above, the tour takes you to Barkhor Market, the busiest location around Lhasa with many things on sell. You can shop for Tibetan souvenirs and gifts here.

Day 04 : Lhasa - Namtso Lake (4720m) – Lhasa

In the morning, drive to Namtso lake which takes about 4 hours from Lhasa and located at the nomadic county of Damshug. Upon arrival, explore the beauty of this lake and drive back to Lhasa. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 05 : Flight from Lhasa to onward journey

We have to get up very early for our transfer to Gonggor airport to catch your onward flight.

The climate of the Tibet fluctuates continuously so it is better to carry warm clothes. If you just want to trek or tour at a lower altitude, fleece jackets and pants are enough. While for a higher altitude trekking, down jackets are necessary.

When is the best time to visit Tibet?
The best time to visit Tibet is from April to November as the weather will be cold from December to February.

Will high altitude be a problem for me?
High altitude sickness is a main issue while traveling to Tibet. Tibet has average altitude of 4000m so people with heart or lung problems are strictly advised to consult their physician before traveling to Tibet. People with normal fitness are also advised to follow the instruction given in the pre-departure briefing.

How to get Tibet Travel Permit?
Travel permit to Tibet is issued by Tibet Tourism Administration. The copy of your passport and Chinese visa, together with other information such as your occupation should be provided in order to apply for the permit. You can take help from your local travel agency.

Can I travel with my kids?
The cities like Lhasa, Shigatse or Gyantse can be traveled with the kids. However traveling to Mt. Kailash or other remote regions with your kids is not advised.

Are there ATM facilities in Tibet?
Yes the major cities in Tibet provide the facilities of ATM.

How to get into Tibet?
There is only one international flight to Tibet which is from Kathmandu (Nepal). Overland tour to Tibet is also possible from Nepal. Domestic flights are available from most cities of China like Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Kunming, Chongqing and Guangzhou.

Is individual travel possible in Tibet?
Yes it is possible to travel alone, but restrictions are imposed on travel to many areas.

What should I pack for Tibet?
While traveling in Tibet Sunglass, Sunhat, Good walking shoes, sleepers, warm enough clothes are recommended.

What happens if I get Sick?
We advise you to keep basic medicines with you. Our guide will also take basic medicines. If you get altitude sickness during the travel please inform your guide in time so that a timely precaution can be taken. In case of serious condition you will be taken to hospital of Lhasa or Kathmandu.

Can I get laundry facility at hotel?
You get this facility mostly in three star or above hotels. There are few laundry outlets in the cities but not outside the cities

Is communication to home possible while on trek? What about internet?
There are telephone facilities in cities as well as in the villages at many places , from where you can make international calls. Internet facility is available in the cities. You can also use your mobile phone at most part of Tibet .
