Day 01 : Arrive in Kathmandu

Your Nepal Family Tour starts within your arrival at airport, from where you are escorted to your allotted hotels by one of our representative. After reaching hotel it’s all your choice whether you want to stay at hotel or stroll around the city. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02 : Mountain flight and Sightseeing Tour

Today early in the morning you board a super scenic mountain flight for about an hour which offers the spectacular sight of Himalayan ranges including the world tallest peak Mt. Everest. After the refreshing mountain flight you move towards the Kathmandu city for sightseeing program. Sightseeing program covers the historic and cultural places like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath Stupa, Swambhunath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple. All these places are enlisted by UNESCO as world heritage sites. Later drive back to the Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03 : Kathmandu to Pokhara 6-7 hours bus ride (Choose from Tourist Bus/ Private Car/Flight)

After exploring the historic Kathmandu Valley, on the third day of Nepal Family Tour, you board a tourist bus to Pokhara, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. The 7 hours drive provides you an opportunity to observe the various landscapes, beautiful hills and rivers along with the small and wonderful villages. After reaching Pokhara you may wander around the beautiful city of lakes and carry boating at Phewa Lake. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 04 : In Pokhara (trip to Sarangkot for sunrise view)

Early in the morning drive towards Sarangkot for the mesmerizing sunrise view. The spectacular sunrise view certainly makes your day. After enjoying sunset view drive back to Pokhara and pay visit to famous places of Pokhara like Bindabasini Temple, Devi’s Fall, Gupteshowr cave and Barahi Temple. Later at the evening wander around city and enjoy night life. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 05 : Drive to Chitwan

On the fifth day of Nepal Family Tour, you bid good bye to glorious city of Lakes, Pokhara and proceed towards Chitwan. The 5 hours drive passes through forests, villages, rivers and reaches Chitwan for Lunch. After lunch, carry out the short jungle walk and witness varieties of deer and other animals. In the evening visit the local Tharu Village and attend the cultural program with the traditional Tharu Stick Dance. Later return back at Resort for dinner. Overnight at Resort.

Day 06 : Bird Watching and Jungle Safari

The day starts with a walk through grassland and forest upstream of the Narayani River. Carry out a brisk canoeing session which leads you towards Elephant Breeding Center where you interact with baby elephants and learn about the captive breeding program. After lunch, explore the national park enjoying the elephant safari and encounter different species of animals including one-horned rhino and royal Bengal tiger. Later, at the evening enjoy cultural dance. Overnight at Resort.

Day 07 : Chitwan to Kathmandu (Drive or fly)

After spending a quality time at Chitwan, today you fly or drive back to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, take your time to buy some souvenir and gifts to your loved ones. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 08 : Transfer to the Airport for your onward destination

The tour duration is about 7 nights/8 days. The sightseeing is done at the major UNESCO World Heritage sites of the Kathmandu Valley plus tour of beautiful lakeside town Pokhara and jungle safari at another UNESCO Natural World Heritage site Chitwan National Park.

Clothing
Clothing varies with the type of tour and season. It’s warm in Kathmandu from April to October-end and from November to March-end, days are usually warm but evening colder. Summer clothes are okay during the day time but the evening requires a light jackets. Winter is from December till February so bring along sufficient winter wears like jackets, sweaters, trousers etc. Or you can purchase clothes of your choice in Kathmandu clothing stores too.

Meals
Breakfast is included while in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Full-board in Chitwan.

The sightseeing places we visit in Kathmandu will include:

Kathmandu Durbar Square (World Heritage Site)
This complex of palaces, courtyards and temples, built between the 12th and 18th centuries, used to be the seat of the ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu. An intriguing piece here is the 17th- century stone inscription set into the wall of the palace with writings in 15 languages. The Durbar Square is the social, religious and urban focal point of the city. There are also three museums inside the palace building.

Swoyambhunath Stupa - The Monkey Temple (World Heritage Site)
The huge stupa is one of the holiest Buddhists sites in Nepal and its establishment is linked to the creation of the Kathmandu Valley out of a primordial lake. Swayambhu is also known the Monkey temple because of the countless monkeys living in the premises. The stupa is towards the western side of the Kathmandu valley atop a hillock commanding great view of the entire Kathmandu Valley.

Pashupatinath Temple (World Heritage Site)
Pashupatinath is one of the most sacred Hindu shrines located 5 kms east of the city center. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred Linga, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva. Chronicles indicate the temples existence prior to 400 AD. The holy Bagmati River flowing beside the temple is also the cremation ground for Hindus.

Bouddhanath Stupa (World Heritage Site)
The Bouddhanath Stups is the largest stupa in the valley located about 6 kms to the east of downtown Kathmandu. It looms 36 meters high and presents one of the most fascinating
specimens of stupa design. Buddhanath is also known as Khasti, or dew drops, after an account that builders had to use dew to mix the mortar as Kathmandu was suffering from a severe drought during the construction of Bouddhanath.

Sarangkot
Sarangkot is the Himalayan view-point located at an altitude of 1600m. From Sarangkot, on the northern direction one can spot Dhawalagiri in the far west, Annapurna range is visible when the weather is clear on the same side. On the southern direction overlooks the Pokhara city and its lake on the north-western outskirts of the city.

Davis fall
Locally known as Patale Chhango and in the southern flank of the Pokhara valley, it is where the stream flowing from Fewa Lake collapses and surges down the rock into a deep gorge, leaping through several potholes.

Gupteshwor Cave
The revered Gupteshwor Cave is situated 2 kms from Pokhara airport. The entrance is right across from Davis fall and the cave is almost 3 kms long. It has some big hall-sized rooms and some passages where you have to crawl on all four. This cave holds special value to Hindus since a phallic symbol of Lord Shiva is preserved here in the condition it was discovered

In Chitwan:

Chitwan National Park
Chitwan National Park is the UNESCO Natural Wolrd Heritage site located in the plains Terai of Nepal. A total of 68 species of mammals, 544 species of birds, 56 species of herpetofauna and 126 species of fish have been recorded in the park. The park is especially renowned for its protection of One Horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tiger and Gharial Crocodile.

How to Enter Nepal?
In order to fly directly to Nepal from your home country, Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu is the only international airport in Nepal. TIA has direct air link with Osaka, Shanghai, London, Frankfurt, Hongkong, Singapore, Bangkok, Delhi, Dubai, Bombay and Calcutta. Lufthansa, Royal Nepal Airlines (RNAC), Air India, Singapore Airlines, Thai are the airlines that carry most of the foreign travelers into Kathmandu; and if you buy tickets from any other airlines, you will probably connect with one of these airlines for the final leg of your flight.

Do I need a visa to travel to Nepal?
All foreign nationals, except Indian Citizens, need visas to enter Nepal.

What do I need to get my visa?
You need a valid passport, two passport size photos and US$ in cash.

Where do I apply to get my visa?
The best way to apply for visa is from the Nepalese diplomatic missions in your home country. The other choice is to get it from Immigration office at the entry points of Nepal.

What if I decided to stay more than 60 days in Nepal? Where and what should I do to extend my Tourist Visa?
There’s no problem in it. The Immigration Department of Kathmandu or Pokhara can extend the visa for another 30 days and the charge for this is US$ 50. Indeed the visa can be extended for a total of 120 days, an additional 30 days visa may be granted on reasonable grounds from the Immigration Office. Nevertheless, a tourist cannot stay in Nepal under tourist-visa for more than 150 cumulative days.

When is the best time to travel in Nepal?
The weather is probably the best guide for deciding when to plan your trip to Nepal. The best time to visit Nepal is between September to November and February to May.

What is the national language of Nepal?
Nepal’s national language is called Nepali. It is written in Devnagri Script. This script is the same as the one used in Hindi language – the national language of India. There are more than 72 different spoken languages in Nepal. It is also official language of Nepal.

What’s the common form of greeting in Nepal?
It is called Namaste or Namaskar. You can say the greeting in words as well as do it using a gesture. Join your palms together and bring them close to your chest and about 5 to 7 inches below your chin. The word Namaste has many meanings such as Hello, How are you? I am glad to see you, nice to meet you, good morning, etc.

What should I wear?
Light, loose garments are recommended in spring (March, April and May) and summer (june, July, August), while woolens and jackets or similar warm clothing’s are required from November to February.

What is the currency of Nepal?
Nepalese currency is spelled as Nepalese Rupees or Rupee (Rs) or Nepali Rupee, and in short it is written NRS or RS. 100 Paisa equals 1 Rs. Currently Notes of the following denominations are used: 1000, 500, 100, 50, 25, 10, 5, 2, and 1 rupees. Coin hasn’t been popular in Nepal and hence is almost always ignored in business. The coins of the following denominations can be found: 1 paisa, 5 paisa, 10 paisa, 50 paisa and 1 Rs, 2 Rs, and 5 Rs. It is recommended that you travel with smaller notes in less populated areas, while large notes are easily accepted elsewhere.

Are there ATM facilities in Nepal?
Yes, in Kathmandu and Pokhara. International credit cards (Master Card, Visa Card etc) are also accepted in all leading hotels, shopping centers, bars and restaurants in Nepal.

Will my Cell phone (mobile phone) work in Nepal?
Please, Contact your service provider and check if Nepal country is included in their `Global roaming’ package. Please note, not all parts of Nepal are covered by the GSM Network in Nepal.

What health precautions need to be taken?
Make sure to use only boiled or bottled water and avoid raw vegetables and fruits as far as possible until you get assured.
