Getting Into Nepal

Nepal is landlocked country surrounded by two global superpowers; India on south and China on North. Because the rivers are not big enough to operate means of water transportation, there are only two options to get into Nepal; by Air or Road. The most common way to get into Nepal is by Air, as TIA receives 45-60 international flights everyday carrying passengers from all over the world to Nepal.

How can I get to Nepal?

Via Air

Tribhuvan International Airport which is the only international airport in Nepal, does 45-60 international arrival flights daily. You can find flights to Nepal with popular international airline companies. If you are travelling to Nepal from Norther America, South America, Australia, South Africa and other specific European countries, you will likely have to switch to connecting flight to Nepal.

Enter Nepal through Land

If you are traveling to Nepal by road you have to enter through several entry-point that is laid across the southern border line with India. These entry-points consists of Kakarbhitta, Birgunj, Belhiya, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Dhangadi and Mahendranagar. There is also one entry point which is connected to  If you are not from India, then entering Nepal through road could be tedious process. You will need Indian visas to be on Indian road and you have to acquire visa for Nepal through the Nepalese embassies before reaching the entry-points, as these entry-point cannot issue visa on arrival unlike airports.
