Getting To Tibet
Getting into the mystical land of geographical wonders is not a difficult story though. You can enter the land of Tibet both through air and land. Since Tibet is landlocked and it is basically plateau, there are no water ways that will take you to the Tibetan plateau.
Getting into Tibet via Air;
The Lhasa Gonggar Airport(LXA) is the only international airport that lies inside Tibet Autonomous Region. The LXA receives several arrival flights directly from cities like Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Xi’an, Beijing and Shanghai. Flying from these cities takes around 2-3 hours to Lhasa. The flight ticket might cost you between 270USD – 350USD. There is direct flight from Kathmandu daily which is the only international flight to the Tibet Autonomous Region.
Getting to Lhasa from Kathmandu can be the easiest and the fastest way. At present there is one direct flight between Lhasa and Kathmandu every day, the carriers of Air China and Sichuan Airline alternatively do flights to and for Kathmandu and Lhasa. The flight time is 1 hour and 25 minutes, which is also lesser than the flights done from different cities of China. The tickets might cost you around 350USD-450USD for a one-way flight. Getting into Tibet Via land:
Enter Tibet through road and railways whilst enjoying the geographical marvels of nature is a privilege to some visitors. You can enter Tibet via land through road ways or you can also take train ride to enter Tibet.

Entering Tibet via Train:
It is undoubtedly one of the best ways to enjoy the sublime views of Tibetan plateau. Qinghai-Tibet Railway, also known as the Tibet train, is one of the preferred choices of transportation for visitors to get into Tibet. The train departs from Xining for Tibetan plateau. The railway is connected to the major railway system that connects cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Guangzhou. This train journey also offers breathtaking view as it wanders through scenic landscapes, local communities and mountainous region providing you slice of every part of wonders that the region offers.
