Tour of Lhasa (3 Nights/4 Days) is visit into the ancient city of Lhasa, the religious & political capital of Tibet. Lhasa literally meaning ‘Place of Gods’ and having history of over 1300 years is situated in the banks of Kyichu River surround by majestic mountains. This exquisite, sacred and historical town is located in an altitude of 3,650 meters. Every Tibetan wish to visit Lhasa once in a lifetime. Lhasa begins to get recognized when the three grand Gelugpa monasteries was constructed by Tsong-Kha-Pa and his disciples in the 15th century. Later on the fifth Dalai Lama Lobsang Gyatso transferred the administrative center to Lhasa after two centuries and the construction of Potala Palace started, since then Lhasa has become the focal point for Tibetans. Present day Lhasa with some oldest monasteries in the region is visited by many Tibetans and foreigners alike.

Day 01 : Arrive Lhasa

Arrive Lhasa and our local representative will meet/greet you at the airport then transfer to your hotel as booked. Full day is rest for acclimatization. Overnight at Hotel in Lhasa.

Day 02 : In Lhasa – Sightseeing

After breakfast, a full day sightseeing tour of Lhasa begins with visits to Potala Palace, Ramoche Monastery & Norbulinka. Potala Place is magnificently erected on a single hill top and built by the first & foremost King ‘Songtsen Gompo’. Norbulinka means ‘Treasure Park’ and it covers a huge area considered to be the biggest man made garden in Tibet. Ramoche Monastery first built by Han Chinese architects in the middle of 7th century and Tibet’s key cultural relic protection site. After sightseeing, transfer back to hotel. Overnight at Hotel in Lhasa.

Day 03 : In Lhasa – Sightseeing

Today after breakfast, sightseeing continues and we will take you to Sera Monastery, Jokhang Monastery, Barkhor Market. Sera Monastery is elegantly looking monastery 5 km north of Lhasa and once a community of more than 4/5 thousands monks but later extinguished by Chinese. Jokhang Temple located in the heart of Lhasa adorns Tibet’s most precious religious relic and also a golden Shakyamuni Buddha brought as a gift by the Chinese Princess Wen Cheng on the occasion of her wedding to the Tibetan King, Songtsen Gompo. Barkhor Market place is the social and religious focal point of entire Lhasa. Afterwards, back to hotel. Overnight at Hotel in Lhasa.

Day 04 : Trip concludes

Trip concludes & transfer to Gonggor Airport for your onward destination.

The climate of the Tibet fluctuates continuously so it is better to carry warm clothes. If you just want to trek or tour at a lower altitude, fleece jackets and pants are enough. While for a higher altitude trekking, down jackets are necessary.

When is the best time to visit Tibet?
The best time to visit Tibet is from April to November as the weather will be cold from December to February.

Will high altitude be a problem for me?
High altitude sickness is a main issue while traveling to Tibet. Tibet has average altitude of 4000m so people with heart or lung problems are strictly advised to consult their physician before traveling to Tibet. People with normal fitness are also advised to follow the instruction given in the pre-departure briefing.

How to get Tibet Travel Permit?
Travel permit to Tibet is issued by Tibet Tourism Administration. The copy of your passport and Chinese visa, together with other information such as your occupation should be provided in order to apply for the permit. You can take help from your local travel agency.

Can I travel with my kids?
The cities like Lhasa, Shigatse or Gyantse can be traveled with the kids. However traveling to Mt. Kailash or other remote regions with your kids is not advised.

Are there ATM facilities in Tibet?
Yes the major cities in Tibet provide the facilities of ATM.

How to get into Tibet?
There is only one international flight to Tibet which is from Kathmandu (Nepal). Overland tour to Tibet is also possible from Nepal. Domestic flights are available from most cities of China like Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Kunming, Chongqing and Guangzhou.

Is individual travel possible in Tibet?
Yes it is possible to travel alone, but restrictions are imposed on travel to many areas.

What should I pack for Tibet?
While traveling in Tibet Sunglass, Sunhat, Good walking shoes, sleepers, warm enough clothes are recommended.

What happens if I get Sick?
We advise you to keep basic medicines with you. Our guide will also take basic medicines. If you get altitude sickness during the travel please inform your guide in time so that a timely precaution can be taken. In case of serious condition you will be taken to hospital of Lhasa or Kathmandu.

Can I get laundry facility at hotel?
You get this facility mostly in three star or above hotels. There are few laundry outlets in the cities but not outside the cities

Is communication to home possible while on trek? What about internet?
There are telephone facilities in cities as well as in the villages at many places , from where you can make international calls. Internet facility is available in the cities. You can also use your mobile phone at most part of Tibet .
