Bhutan is rich in culture where the prime religion is Buddhist. Bhutan is the only Buddhist kingdom in the world. Many colorful festivals are celebrated around the year where some of them are very popular among travelers around the world. Major festivals in Bhutan are Tshechu which is a religious coinciding Guru Rimpoche (Guru Padmasambhava) birthday. Tshechu is big events celebrated at big dzong (monasteries) like at Paro, Thimphu or Punakha namely Paro Tshechu, Thimphu Tshechu and Punakha Tshechu. One can witness mask dances, receive blessings and socialize. These festivals are very colorful with attendance from locals and foreigners alike. Besides, there are several other famous festivals in Bhutan like Jambay Lhakang Drup, Black-necked crane festival, Haa summer festival.
