Annapurna Circuit with Base Camp Trek trail as the name suggests is a combination of circuit trail and base camp trail. The majority of the trail resembles the Annapurna circuit trail until it bends eastwards from Tatopani to unite with Annapurna Base Camp trail at Chhomrong. From Chhomrong the trail follows the standard ABC trail till it concludes.
The ultimate trek to Annapurna Region kicks off right after your vehicle leaves Kathmandu for Jagat. After 206km on road you will reach Jagat from where the trek officially commences. From Jagat the day trek will take trekkers to Dharapani. From Dharapani each day’s hike will get trekkers to Chame, Pisang and Manang successively. At Manang trekkers will spend a day acclimatizing to rarefied atmosphere.
After a day of acclimatizing the trekking resumes. The trail traverses through Yak Kharka subsequently reaching Thorung Phedi which is the base of Thorung La pass (5,416m/17,769ft). The next day’s hike is probably the most strenuous section of the entire trek, which starts from Thorung La phedi, passes through Thorung La pass and ends at Muktinath. From Muktinath a vehicle will take trekkers to Tatopani where the trail aberrates from standard Annapurna Circuit Trail, making turn eastwards to unite with ABC trail at Chhomrong. From Chhomrong the trails tretches through Sinwa, Dovan Himalaya and MBC all the way to Annapurna Base Camp. The trail retracts back all the way to Matkyu where the trek concludes. At Matkyu trekkers will get on a vehicle which will take them to Pokhara. From Pokhara trekkers can either get flight or bus to get to Kathmandu or any other destination.

Today, you will get to the point from where you will commence your trek. It is a drive from Kathmandu all the way to Dharapani, a 222 kilometer one.
The first part of the ride is from Kathmandu to Besisahar. The distance from Kathmandu to Besi Sahar is about 182km or 113.7 miles, and will take 6-7 hours to reach. You will pass through several small towns and settlement areas, beginning from Nagdhunga, Naubise, Galchhi, Malekhu, Kurintar, Mugling, Aabu Khaireni and finally reaching Dumre Bazar. From Dumre Bazar you will leave Prithivi highway and pass through Purkot, Chok Chisapani, Bhoteodar, and Udipur ultimately reaching Besisahar. These small towns are an economic hub with shops, business establishment and administrative offices. There will be some stops for lunch and urination during our highway journey. Throughout the way, you will get beautiful views of surrounding hills, landscapes, rivers and farmlands.
The second part of the drive will take you from Besisahar to Dharapani. It is a 45.6 km drive, for which you will have to change the vehicle. You will get off the bus and share a jeep which will take you to Dharapani, the starting point of the trek in approximately 2-3 hours.
At Dharapani you will be checked in at a lodge where you will spend the night.

The trek is a scenic bliss, passing through the valley intricately carved by relentless weathering of Marshyangdi river, with omnipresent greenery and magnificent sighting of mountain peaks of Manaslu and Annapurna massif.
After breakfast you will leave Dharapani for Chame, the district head quarter of Manang. There will be some sections with steep climbs, twists and turns, and some small descents. While gaining elevation we will pass through forest with pine, fir, oak, maple, and rhododendron along the Marsyangdi river. The first prominent ascent starts from Danakyu to Timang through vegetatively dense area. As we climb over these lush and serene forests, we will be welcomed by the sublime view of Manaslu and Annapurna Massif. From Timang the trail is mostly lateral with small ascents, descents and stream crossings till Chame.
After reaching Chame you will crash on the lodge to get a good night sleep.

The trek today will take you from Chame all the way to Pisang. The trek is an easy day hike stretching almost 14 km, which usually takes 5-6 hours to complete.
The trail at passes through Thaleku, Bhartamg, and Dhikur Pokhari before finally reaching Upper Pisang, the checkpoint of the day. After crossing Thaleku there is a landslide prone section where we have to be extra cautious. The elevation gain is gradual and steady and there is no section comprising ghastly steep climb. The Annapurna Circuit Trek trail goes through steep and narrow valley providing beautiful view of a large rock wall – the Paungda Danda Rock a sacred rock revered by the local people. The Paungda Danda is a rock hill, not rocky but a hill made up of rock slab rising 1,500m/4,921ft from the Marshyandi river, the impressive and grand geographical landmark stupefy every visitor with its grandeur.
The trial then takes us to the Manang Valley floor; The Upper Pisang village, wherein we will spend our night. Closer to the final destination, the tracks become treacherous and more adventurous. The artless beauty of Pisang lies in its pristine villages and localities, monasteries, and warm and welcoming people.

The trek today takes trekkers to the bucolic Manang village, the village beyond Himalayas. Despite of covering distance of 16km, the hike is quite easy which can be ascribed to steady elevation gain of just 250 meters/820 feet.
After breakfast, you will start you trek which will after an ascent get you to Ghyaru, from where we can seize spectacular view of the north face Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna, Tilicho, and Pisang peak.
The trail from Ghyaru stretches laterally along the hillside all the way to Ngwal. As the trail now is gaining elevation, the atmosphere starts becoming cold, and dry. From Ngwal the trail further passes through local villages where Tibetan influence is prominent in their culture and tradition. Trekkers will also get an opportunity to observe unique blend of Tibetan/Buddhist culture and long withstanding beliefs of locals. You’ll also notice that the trail is dotted with shrines, temples, Gompas and Monasteries all the way to Manang. The trail lastly passes through Braka (Braga), yet another beautiful village, before reaching Manang.
The beautiful Manang village is situated at the side of culmination point of Khangsar Khola and Thorung Khola. Timeless beauty of Manang welcomes every visitor with its arms wide open. The architecture, environment and whole aura of the village is heartwarming for all the outsider. The welcoming people of Manang are ever so accommodating and amiable.

It’s very important to get acclimatized in high altitude treks. To prevent altitude sickness, we need our body adapt to rarefied atmosphere and improve oxygen utilization. This acclimatization day in Manang will address this issue and prepare us for the tough climb ahead.
So, we stay in Manang on this day. However, the day schedule will be full of exploration and activities. In the morning, we will visit Gangapurna & Ice Lakes, and spend the day relaxing soaking the superb views of Annapurna III, Tilicho, Pisang, and Chulu Peaks.
In the afternoon, we can also visit the Himalayan Rescue association in Vraja village, wherein we will be briefed about acute mountain sickness, its symptoms, and preventions.

After a day of exploring Manang, and acclimatizing to the higher elevation, letting our bodies get used to rarefied atmosphere, we trek to Yak Kharka. The trail stretches along the dry and barren landscapes above Manang.
Nearby Manang is a point where Khangsar Khola and Thorung Khola merge together to give birth to Marshyangdi River. The trail deviates right from this coalescing point following the Thorung Khola all the way to Yak Kharka. The trail ascends from Manang initially passing through Tengi and then reaching Ghusang (Locally known as Gunsang). Then further extends laterally along the hillside it crosses Ghyanchang stream. After passing some small tea houses and man walls trekkers will reach Yak Kharka.
“Kharka” translates to pastures, and Yak Kharka means Yak pastures. As people dwelling in this high elevation heavily depends upon cattle like Yak and Sheep for their survival, Yak Kharka is a place with significant importance acting as a grazing ground for Yaks and assisting in human sustenance. Along the way, trekkers will be on constant surveillance of eastern peaks of Annapurna Massif. Annapurna II, III, IV and Gangapurna Himal reveals itself more and more as you gain elevation and approach Yak Kharka.
At Yak Kharka you will be checked in at a lodge where you will get reinvigorating sleep, recharge your body for the next day’s trek.

The trek today will take you to the base of Thorung La pass, Thorung Phedi. After which the most strenuous hike of the whole trek will start. The hike from Yak Kharka to Thorung Phedi might not observe significant elevation gain but due to rarefied atmosphere, it sure is going to be quite harder than earlier day’s hike.
Right after you leave Yak Kharka you will cautiously hike through landslide prone area, then after stopping by ACAP office where they will check your documents you will reach Ledar. The trail now stretches along Kone Khola stream, it crosses the stream via suspension bridge and finally reach Thorung Phedi.
You will pass through slender, narrow gravelled path prone to landslides. The uninhabited, rugged terrain is ethereal and is much different than the lush lowlands that we started during our way up in the course of the preliminary segment of the trek. As the trail is way high than tree line altitude there will be no vegetation. If you are travelling during spring there might pastures however during fall season it is mostly dry and arid. The atmosphere is also dry and humidity is very less. The bucolic beauty of the region you will witness during the trek surpasses the ability of language to describe things.

Today’s hike is the most challenging hike of the entire Trek. Taking you from Thorong Phedi (4,525m/14,845ft) to Muktinath Temple (3,760m/12,335ft) via Thorong-La pass at 5,416 meters/17,769 feet. The section of the trek is quite strenuous as Thorong-La pass is one of the highest passes in the world. It is also the highest point we will be reaching during entirety of the trek.
The hike beings at early hours of morning with tortuous and steep climb till Thorung High Camp. Further moving ahead, you will follow the dry, rocky and dusty trail through hill ridges finally reaching the Thorung La Pass. Since the elevation gain is significant, your ascent will be quite strenuous. The However, the breathtaking panoramic view from the pass definitely justifies the exacting climb. While approaching the pass you can observe the northern peaks of Annapurna Range and western face of Chulu Range, while on descending down the western side of the pass you can observe northern peaks of Dhaulagiri range. Just crossing the Thorang La pass is a life achievement, a once in a lifetime experience. The triumphant feeling you get after reaching one of the highest passes of the world is indescribable.
After spending some time at Thorung La pass you will descend down slowly. The trail widens over barren hillside as it descends till Muktimath – a sacred location for Hindus and Buddhists. At Muktinath you will be checked in at a lodge where you will spend the night.

Today is a drive day, a rest day for your legs. Just give yourself a pat on the back for successfully completing the arduous climb and crossing Thorung La pass. The drive will take you from Muktinath to Tatopani.
The drive starts from Muktinath. You will share the vehicle with other travelers. The road first descends down all the way to Kagbeni, take a left turn and head towards Tatopani. The road passes through beautiful valley carved by relentless weathering of Kaligandaki river. During the road trip you will also get to see bucolic beauty of villages like marpha, Chokho Pani, Naurikot and many more. Some sections of the road to Tatopani are either asphalt or tarmac pitched road where as some section can be graveled or off road. As the follows the current of Kalagandaki river, the greenery on the landscapes is reinstated aggrandizing the charm of the whole road trip. Your vehicle will cross several streams and waterfalls before reaching Taatopani. The road will traverse through Larjung, Kalopani, Taal Bajar, and Ghasa before finally reaching Tatopani.
“Tatopani” translates to “Hot water” in English and the reason behind such naming is the presence of hot springs in that area. You can take a quick dip on the hot springs present in Tatopani and stretch your body previously congested on tight space of jeep/bus seat. You will be checked in at a lodge at Tatopani.

Today’s hike is yet another strenuous day hiking. It is hard because of its seemingly unending length and daunting elevation gain of 1,600 meters or 5,249 feet in a day. It will take trekkers from Tatopani to Ghorepani along some beautiful villages, lush forest and beautiful hill ridges.
The trail starts with an ascent to Shikha village, and like the initial part of the trek the trail observes continuous elevation gain till Ghorepani. While traversing through Shikha trekkers will pass through pristine Gurung villages, allowing you a chance to witness the culture and daily life of natives. Trekkers will follow the trail cloaked with lush forest predominantly populated with Rhododendron species, Maple and Oak form Shikha, to Chitre and all the way to Ghorepani. Trekkers will cross several small streams, pastures and terrace farmlands. The trail will have many short as well as long ascent till Ghorepani. Ghorepani have the world’s largest and thickest Rhododendron Forest, and during spring when Rhododendron blooms the forest changes its green colors to different shades of Red, Pink, While and Yellow.
Upon reaching Ghorepani, you will be checked in at a lodge where you will spend the night.

Today’s hike is one of the major highlights of the entire trek, taking you to the amazing vantage point of to embellish the mesmerizing sunrise; Poonhill.
Very early in the morning before dawn, you will start your hike to the Poonhill to witness unarguably one of the best sunrises of your life. Poonhill is not only for sunrise view, it also offers sensational views of Hiunchuli, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, II, III, and IV, Tukuche, Lamjung Himal and Machhapuchhre ‘Fishtail’ Mountain ranges, one of the best panoramic views of the mountain peaks of Annapurna region.
After witnessing sunrise and observing insatiable views of mountain peaks, we will descend our way back to Ghorepani. From Ghorepani we will steadily ascend till Deurali Pass and again start our descend. After reaching to the bottom of the hill we will cross a small stream and again start the ascend towards Tadapani. Getting closer to Tadapani late in the day, you will get a phenomenal view of the sun set over the mountains.
The hike today can be hard on your knees and toes, as there are steep descends and ascends. Make sure you have eaten well, hydrated and are wearing comfortable shoes.

The hike from Tadapani to Chomrong get you into Annapurna Base Camp trail. The hike is fairly easy and short compared to previous day’s hike.
The trail leaves Tadapani behind and descends down lush forest mostly populated by Rhododendron, Oak and Birch. The trail will then cross the Kimrong Khola and ascends to reach Kimrong village. Then the trail stretches laterally passing through Taulong and finally reaching Chomrong.
Chhomrong is a beautiful Gurung village situated on Annapurna Base Camp Trail. You will be checked in at a lodge in Chomrong where you will spend the night.

The trek today will take you to Himalaya. The hike today stretches 12.23 km or 7.62 miles with total elevation gain of more than 700 meters or 2,296 feet. It is also quite easy as the trail gain elevation steadily.
After breakfast your hike commences. The trail initially descends down to Modi Khola passing through Sinuwa village, after which it slowly gains elevation moving along the river. The trail passes through lush forest of Bamboo, Rhododendron and Oak. If you embark on this hike during spring you will get to witness the red colour of Rhododendron trounce over the green of the forest. The trail further passes Kuldighar, Bamboo and Dovan, all checkpoints with shops, teahouses and restaurants serving the trekkers. After crossing Doven you will finally reach Himalaya, where you stop for the night.

Today’s hike will take you to yet another climactic point of the entire trek, Annapurna Base Camp. The trail from Himalaya stretches 10.9 km or 6.77 miles from Himalaya to ABC with an elevation gain of more than 1200 meters or 3,937 feet. The hike is quite strenuous but not as strenuous as Thorang La pass crossing.
As the trail leaves Himalaya, trekkers will come across Hinko Cave, then further advancing on the trail will get you to Deurali. The trail, today as well stretches along the Modi River. You will walk along the stoned paved path that is surrounded on both side by magnificent rocky hills towering over everything between. As the trail approaches Macchapuchhre Base Camp the vegetation starts to get sparse, as the elevation approaches and exceeds the treeline altitude.
Upon reaching Machhapuchhre Base Camp trekkers will get breathtaking view of Mt. Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, Annapurna and nearby peaks. From Machhapuchhre the last stretch of the trail begins, taking trekkers to Annapurna Base Camp. The last stretch is not that hard, the elevation gain will be steady with no significantly steep climb.
At Annapurna Base Camp you will be surrounded by majestic peak of Annapurna range, which includes, Barah Chuli, Annapurna Dakshin, Annapurna I, and HiunChuli. Along with that you will also be able to spot Machhapuchhre, Gandarva Chuli, Annapurna III and Gangapurna peak. The sunset seen from Annapurna Base Camp is unforgettable.
There are ample number of tea houses and lodges in Annapurna Base Camp, you will crash in one of these lodges to get a good night sleep.

The hike today will get you from ABC to Bamboo. It is a long downhill hike but an easy one with elevation loss of almost 1,700 meters or 5,577 feet covering 16km or 9.94 miles distance.
Witnessing magical sunrise over the eastern peaks of Annapurna Range at a Annapurna Base Camp is an unforgettable experience which will last till end of the time. After witnessing the magical sunrise, you will have your breakfast and subsequently begin your downhill hike. You will bid farewell to enchanting ABC and retrace your steps back all the way to Bamboo. You will first hike down to Machhapuchhre Base Camp, then as you further descend down you will again enter areas with lush forests. You will pass Deurali, Himalayas then Dovan ultimately reaching Bamboo.
At Bamboo you will spend the night and relieve your fatigue.

The trek today will take you to Jhinu Danda. The day hike is short spanning for only 8.18 km or 5.09 miles, and except the final ascend to Jhinu Danda the trail to Jhinu Danda is quite easy.
You will retrace your steps all the way to Chhomrong, passing through Kuldighar, and Sinuwa. There will be an ascend to reach Jhinu Danda from Sinuwa passing through Chhomrong. At Khinu Danda you can visit nearby hot spring to enjoy the quick dip on warm water. A relaxation that hot bath brings is just incomparable.
You will be checked in at a lodge in Jhinu Danda where you will spend the night.

Today you will do a short downhill hike to a Jeep station at Matqiu and drive to Pokhara concluding your trek.
After a downhill hike and crossing the Kimrong Khola through suspension bridge you will get to hill facing the Jhinu Danda. Further traversing through the trail piercing through lush forest you will get to Matqiu, the point your feet finally get rest and your Epic Annapurna Adventure concludes.

From Matqiu you will catch a Jeep which will drive you to Pokhara, 3-4 hours drive, introducing you to civilization again. At Pokhara you will be checked in at a hotel. You can either rest at your hotel or celebrate your epic adventure roaming around Pokhara and enjoying the night life.

Today you will get back to Kathmandu according to our standard itinerary. You will be seated on comfortable bus seat which will drive you all the way to Kathmandu through Prithivi highway. It will be a 200km drive with several stops for lunch and breaks for bathroom. Alternatively, you can also book a flight which will get you to Kathmandu in just 30 minutes.
Upon reaching Kathmandu you along with your belonging be taken to designated hotel.
