Overview
Champadevi Hiking is an exciting one-day hiking trip to the Champadevi; the southern hill of Kathmandu. Situated at an altitude of 2285m; the Champadevi hill offers a fantastic hiking adventure in an exotic atmosphere. Champadevi is a religious site for both Buddhists and Hindus. A large number of pilgrims visit this site on full moon day to make an offering to Champadevi. Champadevi hiking is ideal for all people who would strive to take the stirring hiking adventure while enjoying the natural sceneries. The Champadevi hill offers superb views of the Himalayas from its ridge.
Breakfree Adventures Champadevi Hiking Trip commences with a drive to Pharping village from where we start our hiking expedition. The trail goes gradually uphill for about half an hour towards the north ridge and then ascends further through the beautiful forest to Champadevi. It will take us approximately four hours to reach the top of the hill. The top of the hill provides fantastic views of the Himalayas like Mt. Langtang, Mt. Gauri Shankar, Mt. Jugal, Mt. Dorje Lakpa and the other Himalayas. The hill also provides a superb view of Kathmandu valley, Kirtipur City and Pharping village. The Buddhist stupa situated at the hill is the famous pilgrimage of Buddhists. The Hindu shrine of the goddess is another attraction of the trip. The local people can be seen performing rituals during special occasions. We will spend some time admiring the beautiful views from the ridge and capturing alluring views in our cameras. We will later descend down to Kirtipur and eventually drive back to Kathmandu.
