Overview
Chitwan wildlife safari of 2 nights and three days is a tour package of time spent in the Chitwan Wildlife sanctuary where you are involved with various jungle related activities once there.
Chitwan wildlife safari takes place in Chitwan which is a district in the south, in the central part of Nepal close to the Indian border in the plains of Nepal better known as the Terai. Chitwan Wildlife National Park is not a park in the true sense but also is a sanctuary for wild animals to take root. It has been in operations for animals of all kinds and with the protective care taken by the local tribes called the Tharus, Chitwan National Park cum Sanctuary, managed to bring back many than extinct animals from the brink. So much so, the royal Bengal Tiger has made it home along with many other rarer animal species. Plus Chitwan with its thick forest, rivers and mash-lands has allowed the species of birds to grow. There are now over nearly 68 mammals, 543 birds, and over 700 species of wildlife. Not to forget mentioning the plant and vegetation found here. Naturally, activities within the ambits of the Chitwan National park would become a sough-after thing to do. We all love the wild and the best place to catch up with it would be in Chitwan.
What does Chitwan Wildlife Safari have for you? Plenty. It is a trip where you get to spend two nights at a three-star lodge in which you are taken each of the days on some activity related to the jungle of Chitwan. The main things are getting there. On your passage from either Pokhara or Kathmandu, you are taken there, in a tourist bus and returned after it is all over with. This trip helps you to get acclimatized with the rural setting of Nepal and the hilly lush green terrain, Nepal is known for. Plus the river in this area is known for rafting while on the trip in you get to see this wonder, passing your time in nature. The staying part of it is in lodges of three-star in quality which gives your views of the natural landscape you are in the rural setting. Then there are the safaris which you take atop an elephant-back with a naturalist who points out and informs you of where to look and what to see when all might be hidden from view in the thick forest. Then there are jeep safari rides, jungle walking, canoeing in a river infested with crocodiles. Then when the day is done to a nice sunset from a viewpoint are all highlights of the wildlife safari in Chitwan. Once it is over, you might consider coming back for a longer duration in another known as AAA (hyperlink to the largest category of 3nights and 4 days) or go on to do BBB (hyperlink to Bardia NP) in another Wildlife sanctuary.
Is there any specific requirement for this trip?
None as such, but you need to take proper clothing for the weather which is quite warm in Chitwan even in winter. It can get a bit chilly in the evenings and morning in winter, though it is in the tropical region. Food is provided for while in Chitwan, as well as lodging. It rains quite a lot from mid-June to the end of September, so a raincoat should do the job if you don’t like getting wet in the rain.
