Swoyambunath Temple also known as “The Monkey Temple” is a sacred religious site for both Hindu and Buddhist. Situated at top of the hill it offers a beautiful view of the Kathmandu and nearby areas. After exploring Sowyambunath, we will be heading toward Patan Durbar Square. It features temples, palaces and monuments which once belonged to kings and ruler of the region. These monuments embody outstanding architecture and beautiful work of craftmanship.
Next site we will be exploring is Pashupatinath temple, it is holy sacred place for Hindu people all over the world, adobe of Lord Shiva. Witness the faith and cultural rituals that are being carried in temple premise.
Finally, to Boudhanath, the biggest Buddhist Stupa in Kathmandu Valley. After lunch in Boudha, we will head back to the hotel. Upon arrival in Lukla, our trek to Phakding will begin. During 2-3 hours trek you will catch your first glimpse of the Everest Region. The trek will end after reaching the prebooked lodge at Phakding.

At the earliest hour of day, we will be taking a trans Himalayan flight to Lukla from Kathmandu or Ramechhap depending upon the availability of flight to Luka. Flight from Ramechhap is shorter lasting for approximately 12 minutes due to its proximity with Lukla whereas from Kathmandu it takes around 40 minutes to reach Lukla. In case of Lukla flight from Ramechhap trekkers will be driven to Manthali Airport from Kathmandu at the early hours of the day.
During the trans Himalayan flight passengers will get to savour the panoramic view of Langtang Mountain range, Gaurishankar Mountain ranges, Everest Range and Makalu range. In addition to mountain sighting the flight also provides beautiful view comprising geographical marvel of beautiful hills, valleys and rivers.
Upon arrival in Lukla, Everest High Passes Trek officially begins. After securing all goods and short briefing, first stretch of the trek begins, which will take trekkers to Phakding. As you gain elevation, the oxygen concentration in atmosphere begins to drop and your body will be requiring sufficient time to adapt to changing environment. But that doesn’t mean you will be in your room for the whole day quite contrary the day will be filled with activities, that focuses on cultural exploration and sightseeing in Namche Bazar rather than elevation gain. You will do a short hike to Hotel Everest View, the 5-star hotel on the Highest Altitude, in early morning hour which offers magical views Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse and adjoining peaks. After relishing the beautiful view of the mountain vistas, we will get back to Namche Bazar.
Namche Bazar also known as gateway to Mt. Everest is a beautiful town, mostly inhabited by Sherpa people. After breakfast at Namche, the trail ascends gradually, offering splendid views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and other nearby peaks. Leaving behind the bustling Namche Bazaar, we pass through beautiful rhododendron forests and small villages like Kyangjuma and Mong La, where we can enjoy panoramic mountain vistas. From Mong La, we descend steeply to Phortse Thanga, a peaceful riverside spot surrounded by alpine vegetation. After a short rest and lunch here, we continue our journey with a steady uphill climb through pine and juniper forests toward the small settlement of Dole. The landscape becomes more barren and dramatic as we gain elevation. Upon reaching Dole, we check into a teahouse and enjoy the tranquil mountain atmosphere, perfect for acclimatization before heading further up the Gokyo Valley.
It is an easy and short-day hike. The trail stretches only 5.4 km or 3.35 miles and observes an elevation gain of almost 400 meter or 1,312 ft which is not as significant compared to other hiking days.
After having your breakfast, you will resume your adventure. This day you will climb to Lhambarma at 4,330m/14,206ft and Luza at 4,360m/14,304ft two sherpa settlement with pastures and farmlands on one of the remotest parts of Everest. The trail initially is steep but after the first ascend it traverses laterally along the hillside all the way to Machhermo at 4,465m/14,648ft. You will find Kharkas are where ever there is a flat land and the slightest hint of water. Unlike previous day’s you will not observe any green vegetation at all. Throughout the trail you will be pampered with exquisite view of Cholatse, Tobuche, Kyajo Ri, Gokyo and surrounding peaks.
After reaching Machhermo you can explore the village, visit yak pastures or rest in your lodge room.

Though the trail doesn’t gain much elevation and the distance is also not much long, there are some sections which are precarious. The section that takes trekkers pass the terminal end of Ngozumpa glacier is rocky and at some places slippery as well. Other than that, the trail is fairly an easy one.
After breakfast you will resume your trek. You first ascend to the hill ridge with an excellent view the valley down to Kantega and up towards with Cho-Oyu (8,201m/26,906ft) along with the mountain view of Tobuche, Cholatse and Mahalangur east to the trail. From the hill ridge, the trail steadily gains elevation as it advances sses through Karnasa and Phongla alongside Dudhkoshi river. The trail gains elevation steadily as it approaches terminal end of Ngozumpa Glacier and the path becomes more treacherous, and rocky. After a steep climb pass the terminal end of Ngozumpa Glacier, you will get on the trail that stretches alongside a stream all the way to Taujan Lake, one of the Gokyo Lakes. Continuing your journey along the trail following the small stream you will arrive at second lake Dudh Pokhari also known as Gokyo Cho situated at 4,650m/15,255ft. You will have stunning view of Pharilapcha massif being reflected on crystal clear water of Gokyo Cho (Dudh Pokhari), on your north you can see Gokyo Ri hill and Cho Yu Mountain.

Today is more of a rest and exploration day than acclimatization day.
Trekkers will embark on a short hike to nearby hill top which lies above Gokyo village. The hill top this short hike will take is Gokyo Ri which is an enchanting vantage point from where one can get the view of 4 of the 8, Eight-thousander’s found in Nepal; Mt. Everest, Mt. Cho Yu, Mt. Makalu, and Mt. Lhotse. Not only that, one can get a comprehensive view of Gokyo valley from Gokyo Ri hill top. Later, trekkers will return back to Gokyo village and visit previously unexplored places nearby.

After breakfast, it’s trek from Gokyo to Thanga which takes about 3-4 hours of walking, to the other side of Ngozumpa Glacier. You will cross the largest glacier in Nepal, Ngozumpo glacier, carefully.
You will check in at lodge at Thangnak, also called as Dragnag locally, and prepare for next day’s arduous climb of crossing Chola Pass (5,420m/17,782ft). Lodges in Thangnak are basic because of its remoteness but comfortable and good enough to reinvigorate your energy levels and prime the body for the next day’s strenuous climb.

Today we will start our hike to early dawn at around 4-5 am, to cross over Chola Pass before by 9:00 am – 10:00 am to avoid the bad weather conditions of the noontime. Crossing over Chola Pass at staggering altitude of 5,420 meters or 17,782ft could get risky due to strong winds at late hours of the day.
The trek starts with steep climb, which gradually loses its gradient until it reaches the final precarious section to Chola Pass. Last 300 meters or 984 ft of climb to Chola pass is very very steep and requires utmost caution from trekkers and equipment to cross the Chola Pass. If the pass is covered by snow, then it’s going to be even more hard to cross and micro crampons are required in such case. Warily treading on the trail trekkers will reach at the top of the Chola Pass.
As soon as you reach the top, get rewarded by the magnificent views of surrounding mountains peaks and nearby landscapes. Afterward, you will walk over Chola Glacial Lake, again very slippery section, very carefully and descend to Dzongla following the serpentine path.

This day hike is a rather easier with shorter trail distance to cover.
The day’s hike will take you to Lobuche after 4 hours of descend. Since, you will be hiking to the climax of the entire trek i.e. Everest Base Camp you will be resting and getting rid of your fatigue to be prepared for tomorrow’s Big Day.

Today is the denouement of the trek. After the breakfast we will start our hike toward the Gorak Shep, the terrain is rocky with no vegetation but it is compensated by the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. We will be traversing through Khumbu Glacier.
From Gorak Shep we head toward our climax, Everest Base Camp. The hike can be strenuous, the path gets more treacherous with rugged rocky terrain. We will be moving along the Khumbu Glacier, and the visual scenery of approaching Khumbu Glacier is appeasing to the eyes that attracts travellers towards itself.
Once we reach at the point where our trek culminates, “The Everest Base Camp”, you will be rewarded with an amazing view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Khumbutse and Pumori Mountain. It would be an amazing feeling to be on the base of the tallest geographical landscape of the world from where one starts their summit to Mt. Everest.
After staying at the Everest Base Camp for a while we will retrace our step back to Gorak Shep. With amazing experience of being on the base of splendid Mt. Everest we will spend our night at Gorakshep.

The hike today begins very early morning. The trek begins taking the west trail to Kalapatthar- the black rocked vantage point, which is the highest elevation we will going to be during our Everest Base Camp trek. Kalapatthar offers unparalled view of mountain vistas such as Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori and surrounding mountain peaks.
You will be delighted by mesmerizing visual when golden rays of juvenile morning sun kisses Mt. Everest on its forehead, that only few among billions of people can witness. It will truly go as once in a life time occurrence, down your memory lane.
Kalapatthar is the best view point from where you can see the magnificent top of the world: Mt. Everest. After filling your heart to the brim with beautiful sceneries of mighty mountain we will retrace our steps to Gorak Shep then to Pheriche Village where we will be spending the night.

We will be leaving Pheriche behind, only taking back memories and experiences. This hike is going to be an easy one, as we will be descending to lower elevation. It will be easier on your legs as you leave rarefied atmosphere.
Upon reaching Namche Bazar we will check in at the designated lodge. At Namche Bazar you will be in disposition to modern luxurious amenities. You can visit monuments which was left unexplored previously or you can buy souvenir and gifts for you and your family. If you feel like craving something to eat, there are plenty of restaurants that offer you wide selection of foreign and local cuisines to satisfy you.

After breakfast we will start our descending trek to the small town Lukla. We will be walking along Dudhkoshi River, listening to its roar and accompanying it on its journey to ocean in our own pace.
We will stay at Lukla at a lodge and take flight back Kathmandu the next day.

With all our goods secured we will get on our flight which will take us from Lukla to either Kathmandu or Ramechhap depending upon the availability of flight. We will be leaving the beautiful landscapes behind and only taking back lots of memories with us that will stay with you for the rest of the life.
Upon arrival at Kathmandu, you will be taken to allotted Hotel where you can get fresh and explore previously unexplored parts of the city. You can roam around the local markets to buy souvenirs, gifts, fabrics etc. In the evening is the farewell dinner at an authentic Nepalese restaurant with the staff of the company accompanying you.
In case of Ramechhap flight, after landing on Manthali airport trekkers will be subsequently transported to Kathmandu. Our team will help trekkers secure goods and belonging and leave Ramechhap for Kathmandu.

The elevation of Everest base Camp is 5,320 meters or 17,454 feet and is the end point of the Everest Base Camp Trek. It’s the starting point for all the expeditions to climb Mt. Everest. The hike to Kalapahtar is done early in the morning from Gorakshep, which is a uphill climb of 2-3hrs. Once getting on its top you can relish the sunrise over the snow-capped peaks including Mt. Everest and panoramic view of the entire Khumbu Valley.
Gokyo Lakes to Everest Base Camp via Chola Pass Trek categorized as strenuous trek. The hike is physically demanding which requires trekkers to be physically as well as mentally prepared. We suggest you to regularly go jogging, and exercise for about 2-3 months before your trek date to build up your stamina, if you are not physically active and fit. Walking stairs up and down is also helpful since the hike involves ascending and descending high mountain trails through stone paved path.
No previous trekking experience is required to accomplish the trek and even a novice trekker can do it. But if you do have any past trekking experience, it will be helpful and added advantage. Anyone with a normal fitness level can easily go for this trek since there are enough rest/acclimatization days planned.
With normal physical fitness, a positive attitude, self-confidence and strong determination, trekking to Everest Base Camp is possible. Those with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood disease should inform ahead of joining the trek.
Though the trek can be done around the year as per the choices of trekker, the weather climate and weather should not be neglected if you want to have best experience, adventure and exploration. The best time is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these seasons the weather is favorable with clear blue skies providing the most spectacular mountain panorama. In spring the temperature ranges from 20 degrees in the daytime and falls to 5 degrees at night.
June to August is the time when the monsoon hits Nepal and there will be chances of Lukla flight cancelation, but some trekkers still do prefer to trek in the monsoon too. This time will be the off-season in Everest so lodges and trails are less crowded which some may prefer that way.
In Autumn, the weather gets colder but it is also the ideal time to do EBC via Gokyo Lake Trek, only you need is warm clothing and good preparedness. As autumn progresses, snowfall makes EBC via Gokyo Lakes trek much tougher. Nights will be much colder. December to February is the time when it starts to snow. Winter trek is also a different hiking experience and as the mist settles down you will get the most beautiful mountain views. In winter, lodges will have few guests and trails less crowded.
The accommodation facilities are basic but good, in the Everest Base Camp and Gokyo lake trail along with a good food. These lodges are well-maintained and comfortable. Lodges on the trekking trail is often called as Tea-houses run by the locals which are clean and have a friendly atmosphere. You will meet lots of trekkers from around the world here.
Most of the rooms on the lodges are on twin-shared basis i.e. the room has two beds and some basic furniture like small table or chair. Almost all the tea-houses will provide extra blankets as it will be colder in the mountains.
Toilet on the lower elevations will western styled but the higher elevations will have squat toilet facilities. Another thing to keep in mind is that most tea-houses don’t provide toilet roll paper. So it will be good idea to carry your own toilet roll paper.
Besides the normal local lodges, there are several luxury lodges on the Everest trail which have the best facilities similar to hotels in Kathmandu like attached toilet, free wi-fi, nice rooms. Yeti Mountain Home or Everest Summit Lodge provide these facilities but they are located at limited locations and doesn’t go up till the base camp.
