Ghorepani Poon Hill Family Trek

10 Days

Overview

Ghorepani Poon Hill Family trek is another one family activity to a relatively hiking destination along with other members such as children and a bit aged. A bit of adventure in the rural parts of Nepal where the family can partake of, as a whole unit is the theme of such a trek. The climax of which this hike is, the top of what is known as Poon Hill, nothing like the other gigantic peaks, but relatively easy to ascent. This gives the younger members a taste of what the summit gives. No snow but shows the snow-capped peaks in the early morning with the sun turning them to a golden hue as it begins to rise over them. Making the moment almost magical. Something out of a fairy tale book.

This Ghorepani Poon Hill Family Trek all begins with your arrival in Kathmandu. With having spent a day in it visiting UNESCO Sites, you learn about the interesting facts from them. Then you head for Pokhara getting your first taste of rural Nepal along with your family on the way. Eventually, the hike begins along a relatively easy trekking route for a couple of days to climax at Poon Hill at Ghorepani. It not only takes you there but while getting there you hike along trails that give you majestic sights and sounds of the woods which you pass through, allowing the spotting of a bird which turns out a squirrel the laughing joke of the pack. The villages, you pass seem to be welcoming with their tradition, culture and religion. Then the pictures taken with the snow-capped Himalayan peaks as the backdrop is another story to tell of a family adventure to Ghorepani Poon Hill. Finally is over when you are beginning to have such fun as a family unit, that you might consider doing another family adventure with Short Everest Trek and Nagarkot Family Hike.

This Ghorepani Poon Hill Family trek gives one much to gain from a family unit while enjoying the majestic sight and sound of Nepal has to offer. Your visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites begins the show, with the visit to four of them; Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Temple cum Stupa and Boudhanath Stupa. Each of them is uniquely placed in the values of Nepal’s history, tradition and religion, glowing with the architectural splendors. The bus ride from one tourist town to another, Pokhara, is a tale of rural life, rolling lush green hills and fast flowing rivers. Then the daily hikes of a few days taking you from village to village, each letting out the secrets of their culture, tradition and religion – all seeming different but a part of the whole. The way between them lets out the secret of the terrain you travel over with the forest, the meadows and the animal life which all brings to a boil when you stand atop the Poon Hill wrestling the view of what the early morning sun does to the topography of the snow covered mountains which supposed to be white but now basking a golden sheen. The trek takes the whole family unit back to visit some model villages for a taste of what actual Nepal is about when it comes to family.

Is this tour safe for children?
Obviously, it is, but too small children like babies and toddlers might become a cumbersome issue for the mother as well as for other members. Children should be able to be active, and the same goes for the elderly who am a bit fit. Thus this is a relatively easy trek for most and is in a secure area.
