Kyangjin Ri is a hill summit exactly north to Kyangjin Kharka. It is an easier day hike compared to Tserko Ri hike. Situated 4773 meter/15,659 ft above sea level, hike from Kyangjin Gompa to Kyangjin Ri observes elevation gain of almost 1200 meters/3,937 ft. From Syabru Besi you will start your trek. The first section of the trail will take trekkers from Syabru Besi to Kyangjin Gompa. The trail will pass through places like Tiwari, Domen, Bamboo, and Rimche finally reaching Lama Hotel, the checkpoint of the trail. Subsequent day, the trail will pass through Chhunama, Ghoda Tablea and Thangsyap before reaching Langtang, another checkpoint where trekkers will spend the night.
Trekkers will pass through Mundu ultimately reaching Kyangjin Gompa which is the terminal end of the first section of the trail. At Kyangjin Gompa trekkers will spend the night and next day hike to Kyanjin View point but for hikers who still having physical vitality will hike to Tsergo Ri (4,984 m/16,351 ft), which is a magnificent view point from where one can gaze upon Langtang range and surrounding peaks.
The second section of the trail begin now. Trekkers will retrace their steps all the way back to Doman, passing Langtang Village and Lama Hotel. From Doman the trail will ascend to Thulo Syabru. From Thulo Syabru the trail further gain elevation passing through Garta and Dursagang village till Phulung Danda, from Foprang Danda the trail starts to move laterally all the way to Cholangpati another day stop or checkpoint. The final stretch of the second section of the trail begins from Cholangpati. The trail traverses through Laurebina along the hill ridge all the way to Gosai Kunda Lake.
From Gosai Kunda the final section of the trek commences. The trail passes through Laurebina pass (4,610 m/15,124 ft) and Phedi before reaching Ghopte. After wards, the trail further extends on the side of the hill and passes through Thadepati Pass and Magnegoth to Kutumsang. From Kutumsang the trail carefully stretches along the border of Nuwakot and Sindhupalchok passing through Thotu Danda and Chipling finally reaching Chisapani. At Chisapani the trail gets to trijunction point of 3 District; Kathmandu, Nuwakot and Sindhupalchowk. From Chisapani the trail enters Shivapuri National Park and begins to enter the Kathmandu valley. The trail pass over the hill to reach Mulkharka, subsequently descending down to Sundarijal. The day will be occupied by sightseeing tours of UNESCO World Heritage sites inside Kathmandu valley. After breakfast, our team will contact you and pick you up in a private vehicle from your hotel, and take you to explore our first heritage site.
Swoyambunath Temple also known as “The Monkey Temple” is a sacred religious site for both Hindu and Buddhist. Situated at top of the hill it offers a beautiful view of the Kathmandu and nearby areas. After exploring Sowyambunath, we will be heading toward Patan Durbar Square. It features temples, palaces and monuments which once belonged to kings and ruler of the region. These monuments embody outstanding architecture and beautiful work of craftmanship.
Next site we will be exploring is Pashupatinath temple, it is holy sacred place for Hindu people all over the world, adobe of Lord Shiva. Witness the faith and cultural rituals that are being carried in temple premise.

Today you will be driven to the starting point of the trek, Syabru Besi. The bus drive stretches to about 143 km which takes approximately 5-6 hours to cover.
During morning hours you will get on a vehicle, with your belongings and essentials carefully secured. Then vehicle will exit Kathmandu and drive through Mid-Hill highway/Pushpalal Highway all the way to Galchhi. At Galchhi the vehicle will take a right turn to enter Nuwakot and continue the rest of the journey on Trishuli Highway/Pasang Lhamu Highway all the way to Syabru Besi. Driving on tortuous highway with numerous twists and turns, stretching alongside Trishuli River, passing through rustic villages, settlement areas and farmlands you will get to Syabru Besi.
After reaching Syabru Besi trekkers will be checked in at a lodge. At evening you can go for evening stroll at Syabru Besi.

Langtang Gosai Kunda Lake officially commences today from Syabru Besi. The day’s hike will get trekkers to Lama Hotel which is a scenic village in on Langtang Gosai Kunda Lake Trail. The distance from Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel is around 11.4 km /7.08 miles. The day’s hike is moderate with gradual elevation, perfect to stretch and warm trekker’s legs for rest of the trek.
Leaving Syabru Besi behind, the trail passes through Tiwari, Domen, Bamboo and Rimche finally reaching Lama Hotel. The trail stretches along Langtang Khola, and constitutes numerous suspension bridge crossings of Langtang Khola and several small streams coalescing on Langtang Khola.
The trail is cloaked with lush forest primarily populated with Chirpine, Rhododendrom, Nepalese Alder, Oak, Silver fir and Bamboo. Along the trail one can find rustic village, settlement area and shops selling all kinds of stuffs from Groceries to Liquors. The trail sees gradual and steady ascend all the way to Lama hotel gaining an elevation of 930 meter/3,051 ft by the end of the hike. Trekkers might come across several steep climbs and small descends.
Before the day ends, trekkers will get to Lama Hotel. Lama Hotel might sound like name of the lodge, hotel or guest house but it is actually a scenic village where trekkers can find numerous lodges and guest house. Trekkers will be checked in at a lodge at Lama hotel.

The day’s hike will take trekkers to Langtang Village. The day’s hike is quite hard as the distance from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village is around 14.8 km or 9.1 miles, which is quite long. The trail also observes an elevation gain of almost 1,000 meters/32,80ft.
Leaving behind Lama Hotel, the trail continues to traverse through lush greenery. The vegetation and trees begin to differ as the elevation begins to rise. Oak, Silver Firs, Hemlock, Larch, Birch and Rhododendron begins to become more prominent as trail approaches tree line altitude. The trail passes through Chhunama, Ghoda Tabela (also known locally as Kyorponesa), and Chyamki before finally reaching Langtang village. As trekker passes Ghoda Tabela the vegetation begins to get sparse and the valley begins to widen providing beautiful view of show capped mountain to the left side rim of the valley. The trail consists of several sections with stone paved path and suspension bridge crossing. Except few hotels and lodges, there will barely be any settlement areas or villages throughout the trail. The trail also observes several steep ascends and precarious sections. Before the trail gets to Langtang village, it passes through ruins of old Langtang village which was wiped out by avalanche triggered by devastating earthquake of 2015.
At Langtang you will be checked in at a lodge. Where you will get much required rest.

The day hike today is one of the tough hikes done during the trek, and will take you to Kyangjin Gompa village and Kyangjin Ri. Well trekkers can omit Kyangjin Ri hike and end the day hike at Kyangjin Gompa, but in order make sure that the trekkers reach both hill summit/view point of Langtang Valley trek we have scheduled Kyangjin Ri hike for this day. The distance between Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa is 6.8 km or 4.2 miles, and one way distance from Kyangjin Gompa to Kyangjin Ri is approximately 4.8 km or 1.49 miles.
As the trail is now above tree line altitude, the vegetation of the region only comprises small shrubs and green pastures, and is devoid of greeneries of Trees. Trekkers will hike pass Sindhum through green yak pastures before ascending to Yamphu. As trekkers traverse through these villages’ trekkers will get to observe Mani Walls with prayer wheels and stone inscriptions of Buddhists chants. Trekkers will be in constant companionship of Langtang river and snow-capped peaks. On the way we will pass through Buddhists Stupas and shrines standing as a testament of the belief and faith of local people. On the way trekkers will cross some streams merging into Langtang river. A final steep ascend through loose rocky path will get trekkers to Kyangjin Gompa. After reaching Kyangjin Gompa trekkers will have their lunch and a brief break before resuming the hike to Kyangjin Ri. Trekkers will leave their bag pack at lodge, only carrying essential for the hike to Kyangjin Ri. The hike from Kyangjin Gompa to Kyanjin Ri is quite hard. The ascend is very very steep, observing more than 9,00 meters/2,952 ft in elevation while covering only 2.4 km of horizontal distance.
Kyangjin Ri is a hill summit and an amazing view point from where one can get a mesmerizing view of Langtang Range, surrounding mountain peaks, glaciers, and nearly landscapes. After relishing the breathtaking view from Kyanjin Ri trekkers will hike down to Kyanjin Gompa and rest at previously checked in lodge.

The hike today is one of the most arduous hikes done throughout the trek. The distance from Kyanjin Gompa to Kyangjin Ri is 11.3 km or 7.02 miles and the elevation gain is around 1,200 meters. Physical vitality and strong determination are a must for anyone willing to do Tserko Ri hike. Tserko Ri also known as Chergo Ri locally is the apogee of the entire trek, which is elevated 5,033 meter/16,512ft above sea level.
The trail exits Kyanjin Gompa passing through Yak pasture and crossing few small streams. Afterwards the trail will reach the rocky bank of Langtang river. You will cross the Langtang river and start the ascend. The serpentine path with several twist and turn will take trekkers to the Kyangjin View point from where you can get panoramic view of the entire valley and breathtaking view of majestic mountain peaks like, Langtang Lirung, Tsangbo Ri, Baden-Powell Peak, Gangchempo and many other. A proper view of Langtang and Yala peak however are obscured because of presence of towering hill of Tserko Ri. From Langtang view point trekkers will hike through hill ridge till the trail reachs Seldo u Tserko Ri, a check point before Tserko Ri. The final arduous steep climb now begins, you will have to traverse through rocky, steep and narrow path that will ultimately lead to Tserko Ri. The highest elevation any trekker will get to while doing Langtang Gosai Kunda Lake Trek. From Tserko Ri, one can get ultimate beautiful view of previously obscured mountain peaks like Langtang and Yala.
Trekkers will get a bird eye view of the whole Langtang valley. The towering mountain overwhelm everyone with its enormous size. Make sure you are constantly drinking water and hydrating. With staggering elevation gain of over 1,200 meters/3,937 ft, the hike to Tserko Ri is going to be a tough one and needs full effort form every trekker.
After enjoying panoramic view bestowed by Tserko Ri, trekkers will retrace their steps to Kyanjin Gompa. Trekkers will be without any doubt tired because of steep ascends and descend of the day. Trekkers will enjoy their dinner and get a good night sleep at the lodge at Kyanjin Gompa

The day’s hike will take you from Kyangjin Gompa to Lama Hotel. It is a downhill with total 1450-meter of elevation loss. The distance from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel is 18.69 km or 11.61 miles which is a long stretch, or maybe the longest horizontal distance trekker will cover throughout the trail.
From Kyanjing Gompa trekker will retrace their steps all the way to Lama Hotel, passing through Yamphu, Sindhu, Langtang Village, Ghoda Table, and Chhunama finally reaching Lama Hotel. The downhill hike might be exacting on your toes and knees, but there will be multiple stops for lunch and rests to relief yourself from possible issues.
After descending and losing significant elevation you will get to Lama Hotel, where you will be spending your night.

The day hike today for most of the part is easy, but as it approaches its destination trekkers will have to climb some steep ascends. The net elevation loss is around 300 meters/984 ft, with distance between Lama Hotel and Thulo Syabru being around 11.83 km or 7.35 miles.
Leaving behind Lama Hotel the trail retraces its steps, descending through lush greenery and crossing rivers and streams through suspension bridge all the way to Doman. From Doman the trail takes left turn and enters a ravine through which flows Chhopche Khola. The trail now observes steep sections while stretching alongside the Chhopche Khola until it reaches a confluence, where it crosses the stream and starts to climb over hill with tortuous path where Thulo Syabru is situated. After ascending for some time, the trail begins to move laterally until it reaches Thulo Syabru.
As the trail approaches Thulo Syabru, the mesmerizing mountain view of Ganesh Himal Range beings to reveal itself. One can witness snow capped mountain peaks like Salasongo, Pabil, Paldor Peak, Ganesh Himal and other adjacent peaks. Thulo Syabru is a beautiful village mostly inhabited by people of Tamang community and a perfect place to rest and relieve your physical fatigue and savour the natures’ delicacies. Trekkers will be checked in at at lodge at Thulo Syabru.

Thulo Syabru to Cholangpati day hike is one of the most strenuous and exacting hikes of the whole trek. The trail elevates 1,450 meters/4,757 ft from Thulo Syabru and reaches 3,654 meters/11,988 ft above sea level. The distance between Thulo Syabru and Cholangpati is around 9.5 km or 5.9 miles. It means the trail have several sections which are very very steep.
The trail starts to gain elevation from the beginning of day hike. Leaving behind Thulo Syabru, the trail passes through villages like Garta and Dursagang all the way to Foprang Danda. This section of the hike is the steepest section of the day hike. From Foprang Danda the trail starts to skirt around a hill gaining elevation steadily all the way to Cholangpati, during which trekkers will come across stupas, tea houses, small shops and check posts. As the trail approaches Cholangpati the views of previously obfuscated Ganesh Himal Range, Langtang Range and even Manaslu Range becomes eminent.
At Cholangpati Trekkers will be checked in at a lodge where they will get much needed rest.

The day hike is tractable and easy if done taking sufficient time, at steady pace. Though the horizontal distance covered by trail during the day’s hike is quite short, the elevation gain is almost 750 m/2,460 ft, so it is essential to hike steadily taking breaks in between. The distance from Cholangpati to Gosai Kunda is 5.3 km or 3.3 miles.
Leaving Cholangpati behind the trail starts to stretch at an elevation above treeline altitude. The vegetations and trees begins to become sparser, and by the time the trail reaches Lauribina there will no trees, only small shrubs and pastures can be observed. At Lauribina trekkers will come across Lauri Binayak Temple where one can take a wooden hiking stick which they can borrow for Gosai Kunda Hike. The trail further extends from Lauribina to Gosai Kunda. The trail to comprises some sections with steep ascends and some sections with gradual ascends. The scenery is absolutely mind blowing, the mountain views become more prominent, the landscape starts to appear ethereal and overall hiking experience begins to elate.
By mid-afternoon trekkers will get to Gosai Kunda, where pristine Lakes and beautiful scenery awaits to welcome trekkers. Trekkers will be checked in at a lodge/tea house where they can leave their bag packs and explore the surroundings. Trekkers can visit Gosai Kunda Lake and other nearby lakes, Gosai Kunda shrine, nearby viewpoints and take a dip in Holy Gosai Kunda Lake.

The day’s hike is tougher than previous day’s hike, considering the fact that trekkers have to cross Lauribina pass and descend down precarious rocky trail to Ghopte. The distance between Gosai Kunda and Ghopte is 10.3 km or 6.4 miles. The trail also observes elevation fluctuations of more than 1100 meters/3608 ft, at its apogee which is Laurebina Pass the trail reaches elevation of 4,610 meter/15,124 ft and at Ghopte the trail observes elevation of 3,530 meters/11,581 ft.
The day hike begins as the trail leaves Gosaikunda and being its ascend along the northern shore of the lake. The trail passes through Bhairav Kunda Lake, Nilkantha Kunda Lake and Surya Kunda Lake to reach Lauribina La High Pass. Lauribina pass connects Langtang region with the Helambu region. As it approaches the Laurebina La Pass the trail starts to become steeper. At Laurebina La Pass one can find a stone stupa ornated with colourful prayer flags. After the pass the trail descends through a wide valley, descending further down on a steeper and rocky path the trail reaches Phedi. After Phedi, the trail further descends to a footbridge across a stream. From Phedi the trail becomes more arduous with several steep ascends and precarious sections. As the trail approaches Ghopte, trekker will come across meditation caves, shrines and prayer flags where local Buddhist people organize religious rituals and ceremonies.

The day’s hike will take trekkers to Kutumsang, a beautiful village situated at the border of Sindhupalchowk and Nuwakot. The trail is quite perilous as it traverses through rocky cliffside of the hill. The distance from Ghopte to Kutumsang is 14.82 km or 9.21 miles. The trail observes elevation loss of around 1,100 meters/3,608ft.
The day’s hike commences after leaving Ghopete behind. The trail stretches laterally along the hillside before it ascends and gain elevation of around 200 meter/656 ft reaching Thadepati. On the way trekkers will cross small streams, come across caves and camping ground. From Thadepati pass trekkers can get beautiful view of surrounding landscapes and snow-capped mountain peaks like, Gangchenpo, Urkinmang, Dorje Lakpa and aother adjoining peaks. From Thadepati pass it is a descending hike. The trail carefully treads on the border of Sindhupalchowk and Nuwakot all the way to Kutumsang. The trail passes through Saune village, then Magnegoth where there’s an army check post from where trekkers exit Langtang National Park. A short descent from Magnegoth will get trekkers to Kutumsang.

The day’s hike will take trekkers from Kutumsang to Chisapani, through tortuous trail overlayed on the rugged hills and gorges of Nuwakot and Sindhupalchowk districts. The distance from Kutumsang to Chisapani is 16.77 km or 10.42 miles, with an elevation loss of almost 200 meters/656 ft. Considering the lengthy distance covered by the trail, the hike is quite exacting and can cause physical exertion. Make sure to hydrate and eat sufficiently.
The hike begins with small and steady climb to Gul Bhanjyang which provides mesmerizing view of nearby regions of Helambu valley. From Gul Bhanjyang the stone paved trail passes through some localities and villages all the way to Chipling. Further descending from Chipling the trail crosses the stream and begin the ascend again to reach Pati Bhanjyang. At Pati Bhanjyang trekkers will come across another army check post from where trekkers will enter Shivapur Nagarjun National Park and reach Chisapani.
Chisapani is a trijunction point of three districts; Kathmandu, Sindhupalchowk and Nuwakot. It is also the last night stay on the trail of the trek. You will be checked in at a lodge to rest and replenish the energy level.

Well, it is the last day on the trail. The hike today will take you inside Kathmandu valley. The distance that hiking trail covers from Chisapani to Sundarijal is 10.35 km or 6.43 miles. The trail goes up and over the hill, piercing and exiting the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park from Sundarijal Army Checkpost.
The last day hike commences on a stone paved path that traverse through lush forest of Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. The first part is an ascend till Borlang Bhanjyang Pass, from which it is a downhill hike all the way to Sundarijal. While following the trail trekkers will pass through Mulkharka village, yet again another Army Checkpost, and water reservoirs. Further descending trekkers will come across big metal pipelines, indicating the end of the trek.
At Sundarijal you will officially conclude the epic adventure of Langtang Gosai Kunda Lake Trek. Trekkers will be leaving the beautiful landscapes behind and only taking back lots of memories with us that will stay with you for the rest of the life. A vehicle will be waiting for trekkers to get them to their designated hotel.
Upon arrival at Kathmandu, you will be taken to allotted Hotel where you can get fresh and explore previously unexplored parts of the city. Langtang Gosai Kunda Trek is a challenging trek done in Langtang region. The trail takes trekkers off-the-beaten-path of Langtang region to Helambu via Gosai Kunda Lake. While following the trail trekkers will traverse through lush forest of Langtang National Park to dry and arid regions of Kyangjin Ri, Tserko Ri and Gosaikunda Trekkers will have to cross Lauribina pass which is a high altitude passes and gateway to Helambu from Gosai Region. For anyone who is willing to do Langtang Gosai Kunda Trek, while not essential, previous high altitude trekking experience is a benefit. Acclimatization while doing challenging and strenuous treks like Langtang Gosai Kunda Trek is very important factor. Not giving your body an opportunity to acclimatize itself to rarefied atmosphere can cause altitude sickness, even to experienced trekkers.
