Sarangkot Sunrise and Pokhara City Sightseeing is a day tour package consisting of a trip to the top of Sarangkot Village for the sighting of the sun rising over the Himalayan Mountains and then sightseeing of different places of interest in the city of Pokhara.

Sarangkot Village is a rural part of the Pokhara Municipality on the perimeters of it. The village itself is located on the Sarangkot mountain range at an altitude of 1600 meters above sea level from one gets a spectacular view of Mount peaks and ranges such as Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Manaslu. Early in the morning at dawn, one is able to catch a magnificent view of the sun rising over these mountains in the most breath-taking manner. It is at a distance of only 10 kilometers away from the center of the city of Pokhara.

Pokhara on the other hand is the central hub of tourism in Nepal. Itinerary

At the break of dawn around 5 am (as per season), drive to Sarangkot to witness the spectacular view of sunrise from its ridge. A couple of minute’s walk is required to reach Sarangkot vantage point to witness the sunrise over mountains like the Annapurna Range, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail ‘Machhapuchhare and other peaks.
Later we will drive back to the hotel, have your breakfast the proceed with the Pokhara city tour visiting different places of attractions like the famous Bindabasini Temple that is dedicated to goddess Durga, Davis Falls, the longest cave in south Asia Gupteshwor Cave and many more. Boating at Fewa Lake for some time is indeed great fun.

Vehicle
We use comfortable car/mini-van for the transfers. For up to 2 people, car is provided and mini-van is for the group of 3-10 people.

The total tour duration is about 6-7 hours. Early in the morning visit Sarangkot, the Himalayan view-point, then continues Pokhara sightseeing visiting places like Bindabasini temple, Gupteshwor cave, Davis Falls, Seti River Gorge, Pokhara regional museum, World Peace Stupa, Tibetan Refugee camp.

Clothing
Clothing varies with the type of tour and season. It’s warm in Kathmandu from April to October-end and from November to March-end, days are usually warm but evening colder. Summer clothes are okay during the day time but the evening requires a light jacket. Winter is from December till February so bring along sufficient winter wears like jackets, sweaters, trousers etc. Or you can purchase clothes of your choice in Kathmandu clothing stores too.

Sarangkot
Sarangkot is the Himalayan view-point located at an altitude of 1600m. From Sarangkot, on the northern direction one can spot Dhawalagiri in the far west, Annapurna range is visible when the weather is clear on the same side. On the southern direction overlooks the Pokhara city and its lake on the north-western outskirts of the city.

World Peace Pagoda
World Peace Pagoda is a Buddhist stupa located on a hill top (Rani Ban) just above the Phewa Lake. This stupa is the symbol of peace where the huge idols of Lord Buddha from Japan, Sri Lanka and Thailand have been installed. From here one can enjoy the breathtaking views of Himalayan Ranges, lakes, and the city.

Bindhabasini Temple
The temple is for the Goddess Bhagwati located in the center of the religious old bazaar. The park grounds offer a fine picnic and relaxing area.

Davis fall
Locally known as Patale Chhango and in the southern flank of the Pokhara valley, it is where the stream flowing from Fewa Lake collapses and surges down the rock into a deep gorge, leaping through several potholes.

Gupteshwor Cave
The revered Gupteshwor Cave is situated 2 kms from Pokhara airport. The entrance is right across from Davis fall and the cave is almost 3 kms long. It has some big hall-sized rooms and some passages where you have to crawl on all four. This cave holds special value to Hindus since a phallic symbol of Lord Shiva is preserved here in the condition it was discovered

Seti River Gorges
Carved by Seti-Gandaki, it is one of the natural wonders of Pokhara. K.I. Singh bridge at Bagar, Mahendrapool and Prithivi highway Bridge near bus park, provide a perfect view of the rivers dreadful rush and the deep gorge made by the turbulent flow of white water.

Tibetan Refugee Camps
The Tibetan village Tashiling in the south and the Tashi Palkhel village in the north of Pokhara are renowned for the production and trade of woolen carpets and other handicrafts. The original Tibetan settlers in this region migrated to Nepal in the ‘50s.

Regional Museum
It is located between the airport and Mahendra Pul & reflects the ethnic mosaic of Western Nepal. The lifestyles and history of ethnic groups such as the Gurung, Thakali and the Tharu are attractively displayed.
