Though the trek can be done around the year, best time for Mardi Himal trek is from Feb – May and Oct – Dec. Mardi Himal is located to the east of Modi Khola, opposite the valley of Hiunchuli.
Mardi Himal trek itinerary is first drive to Phedi from Pokhara then trek to Pothana (1,970m) following Forest Camp (2,550m), Low Camp (3,035m), High Camp (3,590m). The final aim of the trek is the hike to Upper View Point (4,200m) from where spectacular Himalayan views can be witnessed all around. After high camp, the trek proceeds to Siding Village (1,280m) from where you drive back to Pokhara.
Mardi Himal trek difficulty is moderate graded trekking. With the best physical fitness and good preparation, the trek is achievable. You are advised to prepare two or three months before the trek starts with regular walking or running, and climbing stairs up and down really helps since the trek involves ascending and descending.
